Questions, answered.
The things people ask most about Tellbird. If yours is not here, the privacy and pricing pages go deeper.
Using Tellbird
What is Tellbird?
A Mac app for interviews and calls. It prepares you from your own CV and the company's website, then keeps the answer, your notes and the next step in a small private panel while you talk.
Which call apps does it work with?
Tellbird listens to your Mac's audio, so it works alongside the call app you already use, including Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams in the browser or as apps.
Will the other side see the panel?
Tellbird asks macOS to keep its panel and windows out of screen shares and recordings, and in Tellbird's own capture tests the captures do not show it. It is still a request to macOS, not a guarantee: some capture tools may see it, and a camera pointed at your screen always can.
Is it allowed in my interview?
That depends on the company, the platform and the kind of interview. Use Tellbird where it is allowed, and check the rules of any meeting, interview or exam platform first.
Does it help with coding interviews?
Yes. One key reads the coding task on your screen and gives a solution with a line to say at each step, so you can talk it through.
Privacy and AI
Where does my data go?
Your CV, profiles, transcripts and notes stay on your Mac. To answer, Tellbird sends the question, the parts of your profile it needs and what is on your screen when you ask about it to the AI provider you chose, with your key. Call audio goes to the transcription service you pick, or stays on your Mac with Whisper. The privacy page has the details.
Which AI providers can I use?
Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, Groq, Azure, Ollama or your own endpoint for answers. Deepgram, OpenAI or Whisper running on your Mac for transcription.
Can it run without sending anything to the cloud?
Yes, with Whisper for transcription on your Mac and Ollama running a model on your own machine for answers.
Do you see my API keys?
No. Your keys are kept in the macOS Keychain and sent only to the provider each one belongs to.
Buying and setup
How much does it cost?
$10 a month for everything, plus what your AI provider charges you for the answers, on your own key.
Is there a free trial?
Not yet. When buying opens, the pricing page will say if there is one.
What do I need?
A Mac on macOS Sonoma 14.4 or later, Apple silicon or Intel, and a key from the AI provider you choose, or Ollama on your own machine.
Does it work on Windows?
Not yet. Tellbird is a Mac app today; a Windows version is planned after the Mac app ships.
