What Tellbird keeps, and what it sends.
What stays on your Mac
Your profiles, CV, stories, prepared answers, transcripts, meeting notes and scripts are kept in Tellbird's own folder in your user Library, readable only by your Mac user, and left out of backups.
Your API keys are kept in the macOS Keychain. They are sent only to the provider each one belongs to.
Recordings of your face reading a script are saved to the Tellbird folder in Movies, readable only by you.
Practice answers are scored on your Mac.
What is sent, and to whom
To answer, Tellbird sends the question, the parts of your profile it needs and what is on your screen when you ask about it, to the AI provider you chose, with your key. Their privacy terms apply to what they receive.
To transcribe, the audio of the call goes to Deepgram or OpenAI if you choose one, with your key. Choose Whisper and transcription runs on your Mac, and the audio never leaves it.
To research a company, Tellbird reads that company's public website. It sends no cookie and no login.
Interview invites in your calendar are read only if you turn that on. The text of an invite goes to your AI provider to name the company and role; other events stay on your Mac.
Practice questions are read aloud by ElevenLabs if you add an ElevenLabs key, else by your Mac's own voice.
What Tellbird never does
Your CV, profiles, transcripts, notes, recordings and API keys never reach a Tellbird server. There is no Tellbird account to sign in to.
Before a meeting is kept in memory, passwords, codes and keys said aloud are hidden. When Tellbird reads a project, secret files are skipped and keys in code are hidden before anything is sent.
Buying will add one call to a small Tellbird licence service, to check your subscription. Before that version ships, this page will say exactly what it sends.
The panel and screen sharing
Tellbird asks macOS to keep its panel and windows out of screen shares and recordings. In Tellbird's own capture tests on macOS 27, the captures do not show it. It is still a request to macOS, not a guarantee: other macOS versions and some capture tools may see it, and a camera pointed at your screen always can.
Use Tellbird where it is allowed, and check the rules of any meeting, interview or exam platform first.
